All the details were tuned into purple, even the dress code guests were purple. We have tried to preserve both Czech and American traditions. We had bridesmaids, both children and adults, and the team. Jonathan had the separation really the last night’s freedom. There were rice, bubbles, sweepings and soup. We brought bells from America. When anyone started to ring, newlyweds had to kiss-this tradition pleased everyone. And, of course, promises – at the American wedding, the bride and groom make a promise to each other. There was no need for dance, games, and because there was a “cheerleading” wedding, there were human lifts – my husband picked me up in wedding dresses.
I think they all enjoyed it, and even when prohibition was pronounced on October 14th, all guests enjoyed the wedding without alcohol and enjoyed until the morning. I and my husband enjoyed it too. At half past two in the morning we went to bed and was a beautiful wedding night. It all really went into the last detail, even the weather. I was like a princess in a castle that found her prince.
